Skin Cancer Treatment | |
Skin cancers can be removed safely under local anesthesia in the office. Small, thin basal cell or squamous cell carcinomas may be treated with electrodesiccation and curettage, or scraping, and allowed to heal without stitches. Deeper or larger skin cancers are surgically excised, either with Mohs surgery on cosmetically sensitive areas, or excision. Second line treatments consist of topical or intralesional chemotherapy, superficial radiation, or oral chemotherapy. | |
