Book review 'Women and Children First' by Alina Grabowski: NPR
The novel unfurls in ten sections, split among "Pre" and "Post" Lucy's passing, each described in the principal individual by an alternate Nashquitten young lady or lady who is some way or another associated with the misfortune, from schoolmate Jane to school guide Layla. to dearest companion Sophia to mother Brynn. The storytellers structure a Greek ensemble that recounts this account of a messed up, lamenting local area, their group of stars of viewpoints continuously uncovering sections of how Lucy kicked the bucket and what her identity was. Through her ideal matching of this intergenerational female cast, Grabowski investigates the flightiness of truth, the unsteadiness of memory, that it is so challenging to really see those nearest to us, and that it is so natural to sell out one another .
