Far too many people do not realize we all must make a choice between curses or blessings; there is no third choice! Some think our lives are like a game of chance [cards], just luck of the draw. In other words, you have to play the hand you are dealt [no choice]. Not so, we get exactly what we ask for; as an individual or a nation. What we get is based on our own choices [2 Corinthians 5:10, Galatians 6:7]. This is a KJV Bible study guide. All of us are told in scripture exactly what to expect based on our choices; blessings or cursings. Why act surprised? It's your choice and again there is no third choice; therefore choose wisely. Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Blessings. Deuteronomy 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. (“If” is a huge 2 letter word. Everything depends on your choice). Deuteronomy 28:15-68; Cursings. Deuteronomy 28:15 "But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and over take thee," [“If thou shalt” and “if thou wilt not” are conditional. You have to choose one way or the other way; it takes decisive action on your part. See Jeremiah 17:5 and 7. Could this be the cause of the pandemic of past years (2020, 2021, 2022+)? Do all people hearken unto God at this present time? Just look around you; watch the daily news or read a newspaper for your obvious answer. The answer would be “NO”]. Deuteronomy 28:16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. Gang wars and drive by shootings where kids are taking up weapons against each other are part of the cursings. People stand by when crimes are committed and do nothing; many cry out to defund our Police forces. How stupid can you get? Our fields are washing away with soil erosion, the land is being mismanaged to where much of the land simply will not be productive like before; it is overused. Very few let the land rest according to God’s Word. See the next verse for a second witness. Isaiah 5:8 "Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!" By coming together in a very large mass of humanity in a very small space, mankind has brought this curse (woe) upon himself. Today we join our houses to each other in our massive cities (Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, etc.) to where many young children will grow to adulthood and never experience the freedom and the peace of wide open country spaces. All they will know is the strife on the corner, the drug deals, the murders and all other world ills that go on around them. Every thing in their life is artificial, from their their friends to the food they eat; nothing is done the way God has told us to do it. I wonder why you never hear big city preachers talk about this particular verse? Something to think about. Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (This is another sign of the end times. Just watch the news today [2024+] and you can see for yourself. What used to be wrong is now considered to be right; legalizing gay marriage comes to mind). These are just a few of the many verses concerning the last days and the beginnings of sorrows. God’s word applied to people in the past, it applies even to us today and will apply forever. The choices we make determine what we get, blessings or cursings; again, there is no third choice. If a nation or individual will not do what God tells them to do expect cursings to follow. Study the Word of God completely. Find out what God asks of you, become a doer of the word, obey Him, His laws and standards. You will receive blessings from Him. It is so simple! | |
