This is a KJV Bible study guide! 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (God, through Paul, commands us to study. Some preachers tell parishioners they don’t have to study. Who will you obey, God or man)? John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: (That famine for hearing the Word of the Lord is upon us now. People are starving for the truth in the Word. Sadly, fairy tales, false teachings, traditions and commandments of men, idle words, are all that are taught in most churches today. You can overcome the famine by actually studying the word of God yourself; what a concept). Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. How do you avoid being deceived? Obey God and study His word cover to cover, book by book, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. How else will you know what is in God’s word if you do not study it completely? Connect the dots and get a much more complete picture. Don’t put your trust in a human; put your trust in God. Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. Jeremiah 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. (These pastors are not of God, and lead people away from the true Shepherd, who is Jesus Christ. Pastors who teach doctrines and traditions of men, tell you not to study, etc., scatter the sheep of God's flock. When those scattered sheep study God's Word and hear the true words of the Good Shepherd, they are brought back into the flock of the Good Shepherd, who is Christ. It is not a good idea to teach and heed doctrines of men. Teach Christ's doctrines only; see 2 John 1:9-11. Also, it might help you if you are a preacher or a teacher of God’s word to look at and learn from Malachi 2:1-2:17). | |
