There is a way out! | |
There is a way out, if you choose it; it is called true repentance! I want you to know that you haven’t done anything that can’t be forgiven! Please read this entirely before you comment. All verses are from the KJV Bible. 1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 1 Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. According to verses 9 and 10 above, what happens if one doesn't choose to repent? No eternity for them, they will not inherit the kingdom of God. By the way, none of these are the unforgivable sin. They can be forgiven by God, if one asks for that forgiveness in truth and changes their ways. According to the next verse, number 11, what happens when someone chooses to repent (turn away from), change how they used to act and accept God's free gift? Their sins are are washed away, gone, blotted out (sanctified and justified). There are some that will share the first two verses (9 and 10) with others, but, for some reason they will not share verse # 11. Why? Is it done on purpose or in ignorance? Repentance is a trait of true Christianity; He gives us a way out. When one doesn't share a whole truth with another, the result is that some people may be driven away from Christ instead of towards Him. Many say they are believers yet really don’t know much when it comes to God’s word; they don’t study His word. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (My people are destroyed because they do not know Me (GOD). Your priests refuse to know Me, so I will refuse to recognize them as My priests. See Isaiah 28:7; Jeremiah 2:8 and Malachi 2:7-8. How do you prevent being destroyed for lack of knowledge? Read the following verse). 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Do as commanded in 2 Timothy 2:15, study the Bible completely; cover to cover, book by book, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Learn the whole truth, connect the dots! What does learning the truth do for you? John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (The truth in the Word will always set you free. Free from what? Free from the old law, traditions of men, false teachings, and ways of the world (sin). Most important, free from being a slave to Satan and his ways). (See Psalm 119:160 and John 17:17, His word is truth). What is repentance according to the KJV dictionary? REPENT'ANCE, n. 1. Sorrow for any thing done or said; the pain or grief which a person experiences in consequence of the injury or inconvenience produced by his own conduct. 2. In theology, the pain, regret or affliction which a person feels on account of his past conduct, because it exposes him to punishment. This sorrow proceeding merely from the fear of punishment, is called legal repentance, as being excited by the terrors of legal penalties, and it may exist without an amendment of life. In addition, “True repentance” involves a change of heart and not just a change of behavior. Psalm 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
