Work, then get paid! | |
Many people pray to God for a blessing of some sort, expect to get it, but maybe it seems to them they didn't get it. Then they become discouraged and disappointed in God. They want all of God's blessings now, but, they don't want the responsibility that goes with it; they don't want to be restricted in any way or manner. Go figure. I heard it put another way. A bride was asked by her preacher, “Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband”? She put her right hand on her chin and said, “ I want all the benefits of being married, but I don't want any of the restrictions or responsibilities of being married”. If you were the groom, how would you feel about her statement? God has feelings too, my friend. Just so you know, the groom represents God and the bride represents us humans (male and female). What is the normal sequence in doing a job and getting payed? Usually, one must perform the work first, then get payed. Why do so many get so befuddled if they don't receive whatever they have prayed for? More than likely, they haven't complied with His will for them; they haven't accepted the responsibilities He gives them; they haven't sought Him. But, the first thing they are inclined to say is that God didn't hear my prayers; they lay the blame on Him; some may even think it can't be me that has this backwards. My point to all this is, there is a correct sequence; work then reward. The next verse shows us the proper sequence: Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. The kingdom of God is the King (God) and His Dominion (all of His creation which includes us humans). First, you have to take action and seek the truth of His Word, place your trust in Him and make Him first in your life. Become a doer of His word, then He shall take care of you. How many actually seek His kingdom first, by learning what He wants from them so they can enter His kingdom eventually? Don't put the cart before the horse; if you don't understand this adage, ask an older person what it means. Seek the kingdom first. Where should one seek it? In His word. Study His word completely, cover to cover. Learn what He wants from you. See 2 Timothy 2:15 in a KJV Bible; we are commanded to study His word and seek His approval. | |
