This is straight from the internet site of the famous American evangelist, Billy Graham. (KJV Bible verses only).

Question for him: Is it true that God cursed one of Noah’s sons, who became the founder of the black race? Some of my relatives and some preachers use this idea to defend their positions concerning other races.

Answer: No, this is not true, although it’s been repeated so often and for so long that many people still believe it, and have used it to justify their prejudice against other races.

Noah, the Bible tells us, had three sons, each of whom (after the great flood) would become the founders of a number of nations and peoples. One of the sons, Ham, became the founder of some groups that settled in Africa, although most of his descendants settled elsewhere, including Babylonia and Assyria in the Middle East. (You can read the list of nations that came from Noah’s sons in Genesis 10).

Because of a specific, shameful act, Noah (not God) pronounced a curse or judgment on one of Ham’s sons, a man by the name of Canaan. The judgment was that Canaan and his descendants would become servants or slaves to his brothers and their descendants, and over time, this actually happened. But the curse was not on Ham; it was only on his son Canaan (see Genesis 9:25).

Canaan was not the founder of any African nation or race; his descendants settled only in the Middle East.

Racial prejudice is sin in the eyes of God, and the Bible should never be used to defend it. God created the whole human race, and Jesus Christ died to redeem people from every race. Remember, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whomsoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Genesis 9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

Please read the next verse and see the specific, shameful act done by Ham:

Leviticus 20:11 And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

My words follow: To lieth with means to have sex with. See the whole chapter of Leviticus 18 for more on uncovering the nakedness of a relative. As stated above, some choose to believe that incest causes the race of the person born from that act to change.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Someone that believes incest can change the race of a human is definitely deluded. No more needs to be said.

If you want to be free from the bondage of deception, (caused by listening to false teachers), learn the truth by studying the word of God completely as we are commanded to do; see the following verses. Another really good reason to study is you will not hear God’s word today where you should hear His word (in church).

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

(That famine for hearing the Word of the Lord is upon us now. People are starving for the truth in the Word. Sadly, fairy tales, false teachings, traditions and commandments of men are all that are taught in most churches today. You can overcome the famine by actually studying the word of God yourself; what a concept).

My words follow: God made all races of humans; guess what, God doesn’t make mistakes. Humans make mistakes like thinking and preaching that a race was created by another human. That is a bad mistake trying to put yourself on par with God. In addition, there are numerous videos on youtube and websites on the internet that still promote the idea that incest is how the black race got started. Don’t fall for this nonsense from a human. Stick to God’s word by actually studying scriptures by rightly dividing the word.
